Chapter 12 - Alone in the Lifeboat It's 1977. Robert is the only American receiving legal supplies of marijuana for medical purposes. When asked how he felt he replied, "Like the only one to make the lifeboat." He began publicly speaking out for the rights of other seriously ill Americans to also procure legal supplies of marijuana. The result? Federal agencies began a campaign of threats and intimidation. When Robert appeals to the White House for help he is astonished at the response. Chapter 18 - Committees and the Ripples of Change Join Alice as she visits the Mississippi Pot Plantation run by Uncle Sam. And meet Jim and Mildred Ripple of Arizona. Jim is a retired cowboy with glaucoma who wants legal access to marijuana. With the help of Senators Barry Goldwater and Muriel Humprhey, Jim Ripple will succeed... at least for a little while. Chapter 28 - Prizes, Pawns, & Patrons Steve L. was dying of AIDS. Busted for marijuana possession, it took Steve more than a year to find us but he kept on trying. Steve was on a mission. He knew that marijuana could help people with AIDS (PWAs) and he was determined to let others know.
